A CAT WALKING ON A MANUSCRIPT. Annalisa sent me a photograph of the paw prints of a cat on the pages of a medieval manuscript with the subject line “Cats haven’t changed a bit.” (I often read two books or newspapers at a time, switching from one to the other as one of our cats switches from one to the other.) I wondered whether the picture might be photoshopped, but here is an article with a photograph. Emir O. Filipovic, a medievalist in the University of Sarajevo’s History Department, made the find.
I saw that, and my first reaction was also that it might have been Photoshopped. That’s amusing though—these are the little details they need to include in our history classes to make the past feel less distant from our daily lives.
