IS THIS DRESS BLUE WITH A BLACK FRINGE OR WHITE WITH A GOLD FRINGE? This article by Adam Rogers on the WIRED web site explains the science behind a current controversy on the internet. As I started this post, I discussed the dress with Annalisa. Just as I was about to say that I saw it as blue and black, she told me that she saw it as white and gold. She then looked over my shoulder at the first picture in the Rogers article. She said that in that picture she now saw the dress as blue and black. I looked at the picture and now I saw the dress as white and gold. We both found the shift an uncanny experience.
