ST. AUGUSTINE—NEWLY FOUND SERMONS FROM OVER 1500 YEARS AGO. Lucy Beckett in a review in the TLS (May 20) of AUGUSTINE by Robert Lane Fox refers to Augustine’s “sermons, some recently discovered”, and says “the process of assembling his vast oeuvre is, astonishingly, still continuing….” These sermons were written around the year 397.
Coleen Hoffman Gowans in this post on the Project Muse site reviews a translation of these sermons. “This volume contains thirty sermons discovered since 1989. Prior to that date, twenty-one were completely unknown, and the remaining nine existed in fragmented or altered forms.”
