THE SCARIEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME. Instapundit called attention to the release on September 29 of an Ultimate Collector’s Edition of The Wizard of Oz, as reported on this Amazon blog. I was terrified by The Wizard of Oz when I first saw it. It was during the scene where they are dancing happily down the Yellow Brick Road and the Witch’s head pops up in the sky that I decided that I would be happier if I left. Understandable, because I was very young. But I have never been able to watch the movie all the way through despite several attempts, beginning when I was in my late teens. I know a couple other men who have never been able to finish it either. When I call it “the scariest movie of all time”, I acknowledge that I have tried to avoid any competitors for that title. Why do people voluntarily go to scary movies anyway?
