MY CONFESSION OF GRAMMATICAL ERROR (COMMENT). Mary Jane gave me a note asking me to change the wording of my post on the Bryan twins, and I have done so. The post originally had a sentence which read: “Dick comments that he never saw my brother and I doing that.” I have changed the “I” to “me.” I posted here about how linguists like John McWhorter don’t care about this issue. Reading McWhorter’s book changed my mind. I now agree with him that these grammatical points are not important. Nevertheless, I find myself greatly embarrassed.
