THE TwinX AND CALORIE BUDGETS. Although the TwinX accounts for less than a thousand calories, an initial reaction to the Twinx is that it is an indulgence, a guilty pleasure. I think that the excessiveness of the TwinX is part of its appeal. In addition to monetary budget constraints and time budget constraints, most people have a calorie budget constraint. Yet even careful budgeteers include an occasional splurge in their budgets—whether of money, time or calories. We have a high-calorie feast to celebrate Thanksgiving. A splurge at an annual fair is part of a celebration.
