AMERICAN CHIC IN FRANCE. Some thirty years ago our hotel in Lyon, France was near to a chic, countercultural clothing store called “Bronx”—probably an antecedent for Brooklyn Chic.
I looked to see whether “Bronx” was still open, and didn’t find it on this list from the Only Lyon Tourism and Convention website of stylish stores. However, there were stores on the list named “Nyack” and “Hartford”, suggesting that American names still carry cachet.
