COULD YOU STEAL A GOLD BRIDGE? Mary Jane, Nick and Annalisa immediately thought of the 170 pound gold bathtub that was stolen from a Tokyo hotel, as I posted on here. The comments to that post refer to bits from one of Nick’s standup comedy routines, which included Nick’s judgment that: “If you manage to steal a gold bathtub, keep it. You’ve earned it.”
Mary Jane wondered whether the gold bridge could represent a challenge to the bathtub bandit. I have not been able to find out whether the bridge is solid gold.
I imagine a solid gold bridge would be too soft a metal to carry the amount of weight it needed to. But then again I am far from being a structural engineer.
